April 30 (UPI) -- Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer extended the state of emergency in response to COVID-19 in the state until May 28 on Thursday, as armed protesters gathered at the capitol building to call for the state to reopen.
Whitmer signed three executive orders extending the state of emergency after the state's Republican-controlled legislature voted against continuing the emergency and disaster declaration that was set to expire at midnight Friday.
The emergency order grants Whitmer the ability to issue executive orders and is separate from the state's stay-at-home order, which is set still set on May 15.

I think the populace is getting fed up in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes, we are.
DeleteThe tinpot dictators have been revealed.
ReplyDeleteDon't lose this list, Patriots.
We call that "Stuck on Stupid" .
ReplyDeleteWell, Michigan idiots elected her.....reap what you sow, dumbasses....never, ever vote for a fucking democrat....
ReplyDeleteNot all of us voted for her, dumbass.
DeleteMax,
DeleteRight you are. Most of us would have voted for a turnip, rather than her. We knew what was coming. But if you live anywhere other than in the Metro Detroit area, your vote doesn't really count for much. Southeast Michigan pretty much has the numbers that they control most of the legislature and executive of this former Great Lakes State. Now we are just the Lake State. Democrats are nothing but a parasite on our state, and have sucked the life right out of the entire public to the point where it is hard to fight them.
There was an armed protest at the Capitol in Lansing yesterday. At this point, I don't go to armed protests, because the risk/reward is not worth it yet. I figure that unless the armed protest is meaning to force the bums out, that would be a different thing.

Just another Democrat Dumb Ass. Michigan is fed up with her.
ReplyDeleteSo... Gretch wrote a 'law' allowing her to write more 'laws'?
ReplyDeleteHow much does a job like that pay?
Aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnd when something does happen you can be sure she will say:
ReplyDeleteSee! It wuz them, not us!
State law allows her to declare a state of emergency for up to 45 days on her own, after which it needs the approval of the legislature. The 45 days were up at midnight on April 30, and the legislature voted not to extend it. She then simply declared a new one. We in Michigan literally do not know whether or not we are under a state of emergency. I don't think so, but will it be enforced?
ReplyDeleteThe police in my county told her to stick it and are not enforcing her stupid ass law.
