There is a lot of that geology exposed in Big Bend National Park. Of course, this is in the less visited parts of the park generally accessible only with a high clearance/4 wheel vehicle.

    1. I visited Big Bend a while back, when I was younger. My buddies and I took a "ferry", which was just a row boat, across the Rio Grande and then rode burros up to the little town on the Mexican side. There, we ate lunch on someone's porch, turned into a restaurant, then went to a cantina and drank moonshine tequila and shot pool all day. Best dang tequila I ever tasted, too. I don't recall how we made it back across the river..... I'd like to go back there and do some 4WD trails and camping, now that I'm a little more mature and might remember more of my trip.

  2. Nick Zentner and CWU Geology has some interesting lectures. Mostly centered in the Pacific Northwest.

  3. Just remember that all of this, including thee and me, are here only through the accident of acid rain.

  4. There are some folded mountains along the highway between Winkleman and Globe Arizona, that are fascinating to look at.
