Install sprinklers when you build. Cost at time of building is about 2% more but everyone walks out alive. The money saved in your fire insurance will pay for it in 20 years.
I have plenty of fire alarms, more than my house would need. I'd rather catch the fire while it's small & try to save my house than sleep with the door closed & die in my sleep.
