    1. Hell, it takes deep pockets just to own a Thompson.

I wonder how many are sitting in police department armories across the country.

    1. I'm gonna take a stab at this without looking at the YouTube.

"For days and nights they battled, the Bantu to their knees,
They killed to earn their livin', and to help out the Congolese.
      Roland the Thompson gunner ...

    2. Of course. And there is an entire concert by him on youtube. I spend a lot of time, just watching old concerts on youtube. There are not too many bands out now that I would want to go see. A couple of years ago, my wife and I saw Christopher Cross. That was worth seeing. He had more hits than you remember, and his band was mostly the same ones from when he was touring in the late 80's and early 90's.

  3. I had the pleasure of shooting a fully automatic Thompson in the late 70's with my girlfriends father, as well as an Ingram Mac 10.
The Thompson was heavy and slower in rate of fire but deadly accurate. The Mac 10 was spray and pray. Very light, but no barrel at all.
He was Cobra pilot in Nam. Scary dude, worked for the FAA.

    1. Put the Sionics or any decent aftermarket suppressor on it and it becomes much more controllable and amazingly accurate with the factory sights!

  4. If you ever get the chance, it's a sweet shooter.

Even if it's a "closet find" in Bosnia.

Even if you're the tenth guy to shoot, it runs on, and your fun is over in a fraction of a second.

    Just do it.

  5. One of my Uncles, an LA cop for 20 years, kept a Thompson under his sofa. I remember as a little kid helping load magazines for it.

  6. For to shoot one in Oregon at a machine gun shoot, heavy but controlable.
