WHAT??? WAYNE TOOK PAY CUT???

The National Rifle Association has laid off dozens of employees, canceled its national convention and scuttled fundraising, membership and shooting events that normally would be key to rallying its base in an election year.

The coronavirus pandemic has upended the gun-rights organization during what should be heady times for the group, in the middle of presidential election and with gun owners riled up over what they see as an effort by authorities to trample on their Second Amendment rights.

The NRA, which boasts about 5 million members, in recent weeks laid off or furloughed dozens of employees, imposed a four-day workweek for some employees and cut salaries across the board, including for CEO Wayne LaPierre. The financial issues, combined with the cancellation of fundraisers and the national convention, which would have surely drawn a visit from President Donald Trump, have complicated its ability to influence the 2020 election.

  1. Nothing lost here as far as politics. If you don't know the difference of firearm ownership between Joe Biden and Donald Trump by now, you have drank too much Kool-Aid. Donald Trump may be indifferent, but Joe Biden is a rabid enemy of gun owners.

  2. I have returned each NRA fundraising request sent to me (Life member), with a note saying I won't send them anymore money as long as Wayne Lapierre is receiving a salary of expenses from the NRA. It's the only way to clean them up.

    1. Hah! I just got a fundraising call from NRA. I told them "not another dime from me until you remove Wayne LaPierre from your payroll."
Still a Life Member, just to discomfit the bad people, but truly, not another dime to the NRA.

  3. Now that Wayne's going to be slumming it he's going to need to take good care of those Ermenegildo Zegna suits that the NRA members paid for.

  4. Too bad that La Pierre is still employed.

  5. ...and we should be crying for LaPierre and his board cronies and lap dog seconds in command? These POS's took advantage of the membership from the first day La Pierre came on board. I wouldn't piss on the NRA if it were on fire.

  6. Life member here too. He gets way too much but they keep him on. I too stopped sending them money years ago.

  7. Wayne should not be charging his clothing expense to the NRA. He makes enough to pay for his own.

  8. I'm concerned about Wayne's salary cut. I hope he can still afford facemasks.

  10. I've sliced up two fundraising letters from them in the past three days. It's an excellent method for verifying that my EDC knives are still holding a good edge.

    1. Ha, life member here too. I also am waiting for the day that Wayne is fired or does the honorable thing. They would probably receive millions the day Wayne was removed.
