"My vehicle is accessible to anybody who walks by," he said. "Anybody (who) wants to can walk up and take anything. Most of the time that's not a problem, but I'm not going to leave my wallet or phone or a handgun accessible."
He started looking for more "secure" storage and made a discovery: a hidden 12-gauge cold-rolled plate steel safe that's bolted inside the center console between his two front seats. The secret hiding place is designed to protect money, phones, credit cards, handguns or anything of value.

While a secure place in your vehicle is a good idea, you should keep anything of value on you anyways, especially a pistol. Seriously, who the fuck goes into a gas station convenience store without a handgun?
Looks like better quality than Tuffy or Bestop inserts. The question is how does it mount to the console? I have a due out to the company with the answer.
ReplyDeleteIt bolts through the bottom of the vault to the transmission tunnel.
DeleteAnd the reason I have to leave your handgun in your vehicle is because in Tennessee it is a criminal offense to be on the wrong side of that stupid fucking Gun-Free Zone sign with a firearm, CCW License or no.

ReplyDeleteNo need for guns.
You can get attack drinking straws for free in almost all convenience stores.

ReplyDeleteIt's illegal in Ohio to even have a hidden compartment in your vehicle. Fuckers
How is a security insert considered a secret compartment?
DeleteA console vault is not a hidden compartment. It simply is inside the console you already have in your vehicle.
DeleteI've read about the police seizing vehicles because they had a "secret compartment" as a part of the war on drugs, even if it was empty.
ReplyDeleteDouche deserves to have his shit stolen.
ReplyDeleteHere in Louisiana your employer can ban you from being armed while on the job but they cannot ban you from having a firearm in your vehicle parked on company property as long as you don't have to go through a security gate and it is out of sight in a locked vehicle. .
ReplyDeleteAt a previous employer I had, it has since shut down, I worked on the night maintenance crew, 4:30pm to 3.00am. 40 to 50 hrs a week, and although the jobsite was an armed security area, government contractor, the parking lot was not. It was comforting to have my G27 handy for the 40 mile trip home at those hours
but at the time I wished I had a better way to secure it while away from my truck.
Head down, eyes open, moving forward......

I have a center console vault in my Duramax. But my gun stays on my hip.
ReplyDeleteI think it is kinda stupid.
ReplyDeleteThese folks are telling the world, about a secret vault in their vehicles.
Not a secret anymore...
