Misses his mom but not her money

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for collecting his mother’s Social Security payments for nearly a decade after her death.

Court document say a federal judge in Tampa sentenced 54-year-old Robert Miller earlier this week. The Brandon man pleaded guilty in January to theft of government funds.

  1. Maybe his mommy left her future SS payouts to him in her will. With the fucking legal system we got today if he gets a good shyster lawyer he'll get away with it.

  2. My client was just doing this to keep his mother's memory alive, yer honner. Who among us can fault him for a respectful gesture like that?

  3. A year or two ago they caught a couple that did the same thing except they threw mom in a shallow grave in the back yard and never reported her death at all. It was years in that case too.
