I've got the Miculek skinny grips he shows in the video on my Model 65 and can vouch for them. They do allow for the very high grip I've used for many years.
Here's a video of me taken about 6-7 years ago shooting factory 357 rounds through it and you can see there's not much muzzle jump in all using that technique.
Jerry has worked on technique for years. And he shares that expertise freely! Yes, it works, even with guns other than Smiths... LOL

ReplyDeleteThank you. I've got a post scheduled just after midnight letting everybody know.
DeleteAlso, wander by sometime. You might get a giggle or two.
DeleteJerry does a great job however a little weak when if comes to explaining exactly how he puts pressure on a pistol to mitigate recoil. He has a video out explaining how far you should have your arms extended that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteMike Seeklander is another guy that does a great job explaining things.

I believe he lessens the effect of recoil by using a grip that allows for the highest hold possible, ie: Ken's Model 65 Miculek grips.
DeleteI noticed something interesting in one of his other videos. In it he shoots a semi-auto while the pistol is being filmed in slo-mo and in silhouette. He doesn't always fire when the pistol has completely settled, but he's so in tuned that he's accurate weather the gun is still moving up or down after the previous shot. I guess that's a result of having fired a few million rounds in practice and competition.
