SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Friday marked the first full day of California’s statewide mask mandate.
The state guideline, which was announced Thursday, requires people to wear a mask in most indoor spaces and some outdoor ones as a way to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Law enforcement agencies in Northern California weighed in Friday on the new requirement.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced it will not be enforcing the mask mandate. In a statement, the sheriff's office said in part:
