SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Friday marked the first full day of California’s statewide mask mandate.
The state guideline, which was announced Thursday, requires people to wear a mask in most indoor spaces and some outdoor ones as a way to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Law enforcement agencies in Northern California weighed in Friday on the new requirement.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced it will not be enforcing the mask mandate. In a statement, the sheriff's office said in part:

I walked past two Sheriffs standing outside our local coffee shop, not wearing a mask, and asked them what's the deal with the Mask Mandate in our county. One of them laughed and asked "What mandate". I don't think any NorCal county is taking this seriously.
ReplyDeleteWe're seeing about 50/50 mask usage in areas where they're required for entry. Even so many of those with masks aren't wearing them over nose and mouth, they're looked upon now by many as sort of a joke.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense. They don't want to have to subdue anyone for resisting arrest because they know if they do the politicians will throw them under the bus.

Some enterprising company should start selling MAGA, Confederate, and Gadsden flag masks in California and anywhere else masks are mandated by State or local governments.

ReplyDeleteLots of people (including me), are not adhering to Gruesome's demand of wearing a face mask. NO! I will not w3ear one. No one has said anything to me - yet. But if and when they do, I've got a message for them. Some stores ask that you wear one, but for the most part none of the stores tell you to wear one before you go into their store. Goodwill demands you wear one, "F" you Goodwill. No more donations to your store - EVER! Salvation Army doesn't require a mask, so I shop there. Some stores don't want to lose any customer - only the liberal do gooders. I understand those businesses aren't getting many customers. There's plenty of push back here.
