Be careful of what you ask for
(Reuters) - A predominantly Black group of heavily armed protesters marched through Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta on Saturday, calling for removal of the giant Confederate rock carving at the site that civil rights activists consider a monument to racism.

They seem to forget that they are about 13% of the population and that they would be completely outgunned. I doubt for one second of the claims that they are all ex mil by some of the firearms I could make out in the vid.
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder just how many of them actually had a CCW required to carry like they were.
The photos and videos showed:
Delete1) an EoTech red-dot mounted backwards.
2) a jammed rifle. Case stuck in ejection port.
3) at least 3 AirSoft guns.
4) no plates in the carriers.
And that was just from the few I could see on the net.
But if four white guys had been planning a similar march, lining up transportation and getting all the uniforms just right, the fbi would have infiltrated them, one would have disappeared, two would be sitting in jail for crazy charges and the one left wouldn't have the sense to try it on his own.

In New York State we ar not allowed to carry any firearm in a state park period. If I were to strut around dressed as they are and carrying a weapon I would be tackled by the park police in minutes. Must be Special Privilege.

An ARMED group of 'people' numbering over 1,000 shows up at a public park and threatens the citizens with violence and NOTHING is done to confront and arrest them by duly elected authorities? If so, it means we have already lost our country and freedom to enjoy the blessings it once gave. So sad.

ReplyDeleteLocal reporters estimate that there was about a maximum of about 400 protesters at one point but they broke up into smaller groups. LE pointed out to the reporter that a large percentage of the AR patterned rifles did not have optics and had bandoleers of ammo that would not feed the weapons they carried. The cops were monitoring the cameras that cover Stone Mountain Park.
It was all show to get the media's attention.

My understanding was that the Stone Mountain park was private not federal or state?
ReplyDeleteIt was donated to the State of Georgia in the 1950's by the private owners.
DeleteThe state owns and runs part of it, a private company runs the amusement park part.
I haven't been there in about five or ten years now.

ReplyDeleteI was following this closely on the 4th. Pretty entertaining. Multiple people agreed on a number of 178 participants. About 15% white. The majority of weapons were shotguns and AR pistols. Multiple pictures on IG showed Tactical Weapons with no optics or sights. A pretty poor formation for wide open ground. They should change their name to "The Inside 100 Yards Coalition". I'm thinking 10 or 15 guys that know their shit and their way around an M4 profile AR could wreck these guys day. What depressing is these people are never challenged. The night Trump gave his most awesome speech in South Dakota FOX had a conservative Hollywood type on, I forget his name, but he was referring to the "Silent Majority" s the "Spineless Majority". I'm starting to think he's right.

ReplyDeleteBeside the usual about needing more guns & ammo, you also need to be able move, communicate and medical knowledge. Do you have those items covered? Also here is a question that nobody is asking; who is writing the checks for them? I doubt that they paid for their toys and the ticket to show up out of their own pockets.
They must have forgotten to invite the white supremacists to their party. Or thought the park would be full of them instead of families. 20 or so guys that knew what they were about could have ambushed them on the roadway.

Sure any miltary unit would make short work of them in a fight. But I haven't seen the right field a single solitary military unit anywhere. These groups are national and every time they go out they learn. And recruit. And does anyone really believe they are not receiving aid and arms from our enemies or at least will be in the near future?
We'll be playing catch up at this game when it all breaks loose.
