ReplyDeleteVery first record I ever bought was a 45 of Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Today the world has lost a true legend. What a great musician and a fine American Patriot. RIP Mr. Daniels.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Charlie..... One Hell of an artist. The entire CD "Simple Man" is outstanding.... I play it constantly....
ReplyDeleteLost a great musician but more importantly, a true patriot.
ReplyDeleteGod speed.
ReplyDeleteRIP Charlie Daniels. One time my son took the sheet music for "Devil Went Down to Georgia", translated to Alto Clef for Viola and played it at half tempo for a High School orchestra project. It turned into this eerie deep Celtic war music. Charlie played so fast and high that you could really miss the music writing talent. There was much more to him than met the eye.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the decades of great music
ReplyDeleteYour strong convictions and support of our country
Rest in peace Mr Charlie Daniels
You will be missed

ReplyDeleteNooo!! I saw him in concert at the county fair in Knoxville about 10 years ago or so. Over 70 and still getting it. We paid for the close seats and it was worth every penny then some.
ReplyDeleteDamn! My sympathies and condolences to the Daniels family and all who were/are fans of his music
ReplyDeleteand what he stood for. Yes it is a loss. Rather than grieving his death, I chose thank God, that he lived and spoke out for those things that I believe in, better than what I could ever do. I would like to think that (his) Mission Accomplished, and there are saints in heaven who are now, enjoying an in person concert by him. RIP Charlie Daniels and thank-you sir.
We've lost a true hero and patriot. His political commentary was always well written and we looked every week for his "Soapbox" columns. He also did the narration for the documentary "Behold A Pale Horse", and it's still very timely today. If you haven't seen it, find it!
ReplyDeleteA big part of my life as a teenager musically, saw him 4 times, a couple times in a very small venue along with Henry Paul and the Outlaws. He had a good run. Damn we are getting old.
