    1. Yes, they did fool most everyone. Most people thought they were some Southern boys. I'd have imagined they were from Louisiana or the Gulf coast of Texas or Mississippi. It is too bad the fought and bickered in the last of their existence as a band and for most of their lives. Lawyers and record company execs got rich and Fogerty and the band members ended up with pretty much nothing in the way of money. They sold millions of records and earned their place in the world of rock and roll music. Long live CCR.

  2. Noone gonna call a classic radio station and ask them to play some rap, they gonna say "Hey, play some Credence, man." DJ gonna play Bad Moon Rising then, unless he's hip then it will be Fortunate Son

  5. I played sax in a rock band, and we played several CCR songs. Green River was my favorite. But they didn't have any bad songs. I saw an interview with Fogerty where he said that they were not like the typical rock band. They went to rehearse bringing their lunch with them, stayed and worked for 8 hours, like a job, and then left and went home, just like a factory job. He said that they approached the music as if it was a real job, and it kept them from getting the rock god syndrome. Too bad it didn't last, they were one of the best of my generation.

  6. Absolutely wore out vinyl copies of their albums. My favorite line of all is from Fogerty's Centerfield: "It's TRUE! I know it's true, 'cause I saw it on TV!"
