RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — In Rutherford County, mayors are now explaining why they cannot mandate face masks in public, despite a recent surge in cases of COVID-19.
Mayor offices across the county have received countless phone calls and messages asking them to follow Nashville’s lead and make masks mandatory.
But Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron said it’s not that easy.

US Government 101.
Following the link and reading the report makes you wonder why we don't get that kind of a chart from the mainstream media. Oh, wait: that might let the rest of us learn that we're being played.
ReplyDeleteNo mention as to just exactly who is making all the phone calls and messages.
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought. In CA there is a law which prohibits disclosing the identities of persons who call government agencies, departments, etc to complain.
DeleteJust before the law was passed a local airport had gotten over 1,000 calls within one year all complaining of airport noise. It was revealed all the calls came from a husband and wife and a neighbor. And they didn't even live near the airport nor under a flight path.
Reinforcing the idea that generally the farther you get from a city, the more common sense you find.
ReplyDeleteRobertson County has no such scruples. Mandatory mask wearing starts Wednesday July 8th. https://smokeybarn.com/robertson-county-now-requiring-masks-mayor-billy-vogle/
ReplyDeleteAnd it will be enforced as a Class A Misdemeanor. A fuckin Class A Misdemeanor. "Tennessee Class A misdemeanors carry up to 11 months, 29 days in jail and / or fines up to $2,500.00. Some common examples of a Class A misdemeanor in Tennessee include assault, domestic assault, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft, and DUI." And the Mayor's main excuse is that other counties have decided to mandate masks.
All these Executive Orders and Emergency Powers are so blatantly abusive it makes me sick. None of the State or local leadership has even mentioned trying to get legislative o voter approval for any of these new laws.
I saw that today in the Smokey Barn News. I'm sure Macon County will fall sometime soon, but I really don't think many people will actually put masks on.
