Gov. Bill Lee grants mayors in 89 counties authority to issue mask mandates

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Gov. Bill Lee has granted mayors in 89 counties the authority to issue mask mandates related to COVID-19.

“While our densely populated urban areas continue to have the highest COVID-19 case rates, our local governments expressed a need for greater flexibility in addressing a rise in cases and that includes setting stronger expectations around masks,” said Gov. Lee said in a release. “This targeted approach ensures we protect both lives and livelihoods and safely keep our economy open in Tennessee. We encourage every Tennessean across the state to use a face covering or mask, make sure to socially distance and wash hands frequently.”

Somehow I don't see the mayors of the two towns in Macon County issuing a mandatory mask order.

  1. Take heart. In my humble State of Jefferson county retailers are abiding by our dreamy governor's diktats and have signs posted requiring masks or cloth face coverings. But when you go inside half the people aren't wearing anything and those that are, including store employees, have their masks pulled down around there necks. It's almost like 75% of the people are flipping Newsom the bird.
And I have yet to run into Karen, though by bride has. Her Karen was a frickin' freak who needs to be institutionalized. In other words, she's your typical Democrat voter.

  2. There is a meta analysis of 10 studies on the CDC website showing that masks do nothing.

A combined file is available as a PDF for those who wish to study it in detail.

On May 21, 2020, the Atlantic reported that the CDC was over counting the number of cases of individuals with the China coronavirus. Several states—including Pennsylvania, the site of one of the country’s largest outbreaks, as well as Texas, Georgia, and Vermont—are blending the data in the same way. Virginia likewise mixed viral and antibody test results until last week, but it reversed course and the governor apologized for the practice after it was covered by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and The Atlantic. Maine similarly separated its data on Wednesday; Vermont authorities claimed they didn’t even know they were doing this. The CDC is still co-mingling these results, Forbes reported last week. A report released Thursday, June 25, from the Government Accountability Office levied criticism at the CDC for combining active cases of the coronavirus and positive antibody tests. The New York Times also reported last week on the GAO’s report: The report also criticized the C.D.C.’s counting of coronavirus tests, which combines tests for an active infection and those that detect antibodies. This practice inflates the percentage of Americans that appear to have been tested and gives an unreliable picture of the way the virus is spreading around the country, according to the new report. After the C.D.C. was criticized last month for combining the two types of tests in its reports, the agency promised to separate them. But as of June 9, it had still not resolved the issue, the office reported. The CDC’s method of reporting the number of active cases is totally flawed. It is fraudulent. The CDC counts individuals who show that they had the China coronavirus in their counts of individuals who are identified currently with the virus. This data is then used by states to determine whether to open our shut down their economies.

Masks as infection barriers? The pore size of cloth face coverings range from ~ 20-100 microns. The Covid virus is 200-1000x smaller than that, at 0.1 microns. Putting up a chain link fence will not keep out a mosquito. Even the most esteemed medical journals admit their purpose is to calm anxiety. “Expanded masking protocols’ greatest contribution may be to reduce the transmission of anxiety …”

". . . workers should either wear a mask or face shield and that will be enough." Sorry, that's another assumption with no backing in bio-science. The virus escapes the mask every time someone exhales, via the insecure edges. And there are those who reuse masks, and those who canot resist touching their masks, their face, rubbing their eyes. A primary vector for infection is via the eyes, and tests proved normal exhalations, sneezes, coughs can easily transmit over 30 feet. Other vectors for infection are via building air filters, air conditioning, vehicle cabin filters; so now what?

What are we going to do when this particular scare is over and done? Think for a moment about all the other transmissible infections people may, can, and do have? Will we never leave our homes without full-body bio-hazard suits?

Oh, by the way, I hope you are storing all the clean-up refuse in true negative-pressure bio-hazard containers that actually seal airtight. Remember that every time one is opened, every time something is placed in the container, particle disruption and spread will occur.

  3. So who died and gave Lee the power to issue mask mandates, let alone delegate it?

  4. No mandates in any of the places I frequent here unless you're going to a Dr appointment or the hospital. They go on endlessly about wearing one but so far so good.

  6. Shelby county is drinking the Koolaid on this, but there are so many exceptions as to make it ineffective. And I see no provisions for enforcement.

    "Koolaid" AND "eyewash"

  7. I am sure if the two mayors in Macon County were to issue mask orders they would find nooses next to their morning coffee... Same here in Idaho County in Idaho, we know where they live.

  8. The Mayor of Memphrika issued a mandate last week or so. Now we have to wear them at work.

Bullshit disposable mask made in China with FDA seal and a buncha BS about now small micron size it's capable of filtering.....jeez.

So stupid. But yet employers are exempt from workman's comp if their poor PPE allows me to get infected from contact at work.

Needless to say the masks are not 100% which our clothing must be to work around hot material.

I'm tired of trying to be brainwashed.

  9. White guy walks into a store with a sign requiring a mask. Store employee stops guy and tells him to get a mask.

White guy says "I don't have to wear a mask because I'm black"
Store guy says "You are white, not black"
White gus replies, "Today I am identifying as a black"
    Store guy waves him through

  10. The cuck is trying to duck the responsibility. He's pawning it off to the mayors. It's a political tactic.
