  3. Irish muck. Wadworth 6x or Fuller's London Pride are an order of magnitude better.
Of course, you have to go to the UK to get them, so there's that.

    1. Have had London Pride, going to see if anyone imports Wadsworth 6X here. Going to be a while before anyone travels to old blighty given the current insanity.

    2. Have had Fullers before, going to see if anyone imports Wadsworth 6X as it is going to be a while before we return to old blighty given the current insanity. As to Guiness stout, wife refuses to drink it anywhere except in Ireland and preferably on tap at the main brewery (tourist trap), but any good Irish pub will suffice.

    3. Kim, my local Binny's has Fuller's London Pride. The location in Niles also has the porter !!

    4. Is the export stuff the same as the gen-u-wine item in Blighty?

For example, Sapporo beer bought in the US is nothing like the Sapporo you get in the actual city of the same name on Hokkaido. The US stuff is mostly imported from a licensed brewery in Guelph, Ontario. (Apparently there is now a Vietnamese-brewed version, mostly on the Left Coast but I haven't tried that.) After the real thing in Japan I can't bear to drink the Canadian imposter.

But for dark beers my vote is for Founders Breakfast Stout.

  5. I lived in Turkey for a year. They have two kinds of beer: Efes and Tekel. One is 60 weight, the other is 90 weight. after that, I can't stand any beer paler than Newcastle.
