Places of worship told to stop singing, chanting as COVID-19 cases spike in California

LODI, Calif. (KTXL) — Churches and places of worship have already had to change how they have service because of the pandemic and now they’re being asked to make more changes.

State guidelines for places of worship now say to stop all singing and chanting during in-person services because it can increase the likelihood of spreading the virus.

  1. I hope this makes you feel better.

Oregon’s total infections have gone up. The Governor, as well as local media, are now scaring Oregonians with dire predictions of gloom and doom. But take a look at the data.

Through March 31st, we had 12,833 people tested. Only 606 were positive--a 4.7% infection rate.

During April, there were 41,589 people tested. Only 1,756 were positive--a 4.2% infection rate.

During May, there were 73,061 people tested. Only 1,784 were positive--a 2.4% infection rate.

During June, there were 103,261 people tested. Only 4,183 were positive--a 4% infection rate.

The infection rate isn't climbing. There are no exponential surges. We are simply testing way more now than ever before, including testing young, healthy and asymptomatic people.

Now, lets look at the death rate.

Through March, 16 deaths in Oregon.

    During April, 83 deaths.

    During May, 50 deaths.

    During June, 50 deaths.

Oregonians are not dropping dead from Covid. The death rate hasn’t accelerated.

More than 99% of those deaths were elderly and/or folks with significant underlying health conditions. The virus has not mutated into a strain that is suddenly killing or sickening young and healthy people.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the hospitalizations in Oregon have remained flat for months. We have 108 people hospitalized in Oregon right now. Only 22 on ventilators. The hospitalizations have hovered around that number for months.

With 99.996% not significantly ill from Covid, Oregon hospitals remain empty with hundreds of ICU beds and ventilators collecting dust.

The world is not going to end because of a virus that 99.9% of people survive. Stay positive.

  2. Jay Sekulow (Trump’s defense lawyer) has already filled a lawsuit against it

  3. At least 25% of those deaths are NOT from the ChiCom WuFlu, but WITH it. Those folks died from something else, but are counted as Chinese Lung AIDS deaths. Total BS.

    1. Well okay, 100% is certainly "at least 25%". Total BS is right.

    1. I suppose there is an exemption for Democrat events and screaming at cops during riots and other peaceful displays of loyal citizenship.

    1. I don't know why not. Newsom's 'First Partner' does.

  6. Scott - the situation is about the same in WA. I keep asking the local paper in Vancouver what is the change in the hospitalizations and have reminded them we have not had a death since about June 23rd.
Today's headline "County hears grim COVID-19 update" and more fear mongering from the County Health officer, Dr. Alan Melnick. This even as they report we are at 68% hospital bed capacity, well below the target for permission to enter Phase 3 as are other metrics. The ones we are not meeting are in my option set to be almost impossible to meet and not realistic.
I have also repeatedly asked the paper why they will not post other fatality numbers to date esp seasonal flu for a comparison.
And now they want us to wears masks when outside even if not around others. To which I say a big F U.

    1. Shit, muslims were the main slave traders back in the 1700 and 1800s.

  8. This is bullshit! Not two weeks ago, unmasked demonstrators were getting in peopke's faces with no legal ramifications and NOW the government wants to restrict singing and chanting?? Fuck 'em!

    1. Gee - unmasked demonstrators exercising an EXTREME lack of “Social Distancing”, and two weeks later there is a measurable increase of new infections where before the rate had been steadily dropping.

Must be some kind of coincidence...

  9. I live in Michigan. Our Empress in Lansing was on her televised soapbox today, complaining about the gathering on July4th at a lake called Diamond lake. The actual lake is pretty small. The problem is that somehow there was film of about 150 people gathering together, playing and drinking in the lake on inner tubes and other kinds of pool floats. It hit the local television, but then it got onto the national news, I saw a short story of it on Fox News 5 at 5. So it was embarrassing to our Empress Gretchen Whitless. She threatened today that she was looking at ways to both tell us to wear masks out of doors, and then to put some legal teeth behind the law/rule.
The thing is, I got into my car today at a store, and some stupid blond, maybe 40 years old, drove up and parked next to me. And yep, you guessed it, she was wearing a mask, IN HER CAR. She was alone, with nobody else with her, yet she had a mask on.
I swear, over half of the people in Michigan are brain damaged, and maybe a good portion of the rest are liberals who love any governor of other elected leader who is female.
As far as telling people how they can conduct their religious services, they can pound sand. I don't attend church anymore, for reasons of my own, but I would never let the government tell me that I could not hold services. I would force them to shut me down, making sure that I had a lot of video of the police doing so. And it would be on the television that night. The lawsuit would be filed the next day, Monday.
A government can only govern people that allow them to do so. The Bible is misread when people say that we have to follow their rules. But they are not interpreting Romans 13 correctly.

  10. If I ran a Church in Chinafornia I'd change the sign to say "Bible Study Protest 9am, Morning Protest 10:30am, Small Protest Groups Wed 5pm, Youth Group Protest Wed 6:30pm." Because apparently only political "expresion" is allowed.

  11. Moslems still in slave trade. It has never stopped

  12. Jews were accomplished slave traders during those times. A recent post elsewhere mentioned that on Jewish holidays the slave markets would close, as there were too few buyers and sellers.

    1. Your so-called "facts" are simply wrong. Learn to read actual history, instead of someone's "recent post elsewhere", who probably made it up.

The Jewish-owned slave trade largely ended several millennia ago, long before the diaspora. Jewish traders in the diaspora post-1700 were generally working for non-Jewish bosses, in places where other employment was scarce. They were not the buyers or sellers, they were the hired middlemen. The markets closed not because of a lack of buyers or sellers but because too many of the middlemen stayed home on those days.
