I got the Hornady Calculator app on my phone. Found a 1600 yard range in Kentucky last year and took my 6.5 out to stretch it’s legs. So far back in the hills my phone didn’t work so no app. You’d still be out of luck at 1400 yards. Not sure what would happen past that, I couldn’t find the 1500 and 1600 yard targets. If you’re like me and love to shoot and reload, it’s always a great day when you can find a place to go long distance. Only takes fifty years of practice to get good at it. Eod1sg Ret.
That was so funny, I about choked. I hosted an Italian exchange student once. I took her pistol shooting; man sized targets. The first three rounds at 7 yards were total misses. Another round at 5 yards; missed. At three yards the first round barely kissed the target at the bottom and about 1 inch from the left side. Worst shot of the 12 students I have hosted. The best shots were Japanese girls as they followed instructions precisely and asked questions until they understood what was being said.
I used to host foreign college students. Mainly asian. Took a Japanese to an Appleseed. He had never even held a rifle until that day. He shot Marksman.
My son and one of his friends went to a 300 yard range where they were shooting at steel gongs about 12 inches in Diameter. The guy in the lane next to him had a rifle and scope like that and could not get on target. My son takes out his "as issued" A3/03 and started ringing steel with the first shot.
That was great, I've know some shooters' like that :)
ReplyDeletelotta truth there.....
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the way that man wrote and his site. A loss to all of us who followed the Woodpile.

Thanks. That just made me spray coffee on the keyboard - I was still more accurate than him.

ReplyDeleteI was waiting for the guy to check barometric pressure and relative humidity, then I realized, "That looks like the Polenar Tactical guy!"
