video #3 ... that is why the 3rd world is what it is. Those are the people that the democrats want to bring to America. Why? Because it is obvious that they are so stupid they will vote for the democrats.
All tribes have pecking orders. In more evolved ones it's less apparent. Example: The in the Politician tribe the fertilizer bag hefters are the Democrats and the Republicans are the fertilizer bag receivers. However they both have the same taxpayer funded salaries.
Without wishing to sound like a 'Johnnie know it all'
The country in question is India. The 'wallha's' loading and crashing the sacks are 'impacting' each sack so as to evenly distribute the weight of each sack, thus allowing flat stacking. It's also a question of economics; The more bags they can fit in the trailer the less journeys are obviously required.
Fuel is far more expensive than labour wallha's; 1 x Gallon of diesel = 316 Indian Rupees ($ 4 USD). Miles per gallon is very poor due to clapped out engines. 1 x wallah for 1 long days work = 100 Indian Rupees ($1,34c USD)
I'll guarantee the guy squatting on his haunches is the driver, whose additional responsibility is to count and check the stock being loaded. His 2 i/c will be among the loading party checking the sacks for damage. The 2 i/c is also referred to as the beater, he will have a heavy three foot bamboo pole in the cab to 'beat off' potential scallywags along their route.
Not one ounce of PPE in sight places this clip in Rural India, which means it is union free...
Ex Bootneck - I can see the logic\probability of most of your comment, but it still seems they could do the same task w\o having to place it on their heads and drop in place....they do not appear to really be doing anything significant that could not be done other ways while stacking the load. (While typing this, it did occur to me that perhaps it is easier to stack that way when the load is higher and they simply do not change technique.) I could see there might also be some of the caste system in place here too.
In a proper free market economy employing more people than you need is bad business. You will be undercut by your competitors. The good part is that the surplus workers can be made use of doing something else. The more productive work that gets done and the more efficiently it is done, the higher the living standards are.
All I thought was...how many dudes does it take to screw in a lightbulb...
ReplyDeleteUnion job.
ReplyDeleteWell there's a union operation if I ever saw one!
ReplyDeleteThe contract says they only get paid for bags they transport by carrying.
ReplyDeleteNo, wait. They really are that dumb.

Somewhere in Africa.......
ReplyDeleteSeems like at least 3 of those guys aren't needed... but hey, I don't fully understand the economics of the Third World.
ReplyDeleteYou don't? Get used to it.
DeleteComing to the US soon.
That's OK. Neither do they.
DeleteWhy is everybody saying it is a Third World country? This video was shot on the west side of Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that. Or maybe Detoilet.

Spot on. Thank you.
DeleteDon't worry! We have our fair share of these morons in our country.

ReplyDeleteMust be a union rule.
ReplyDeleteIndian software development?
ReplyDeleteUnions?
ReplyDeleteAt some point, do they realize methodology is different between stacking below chest level vs above chest level?
