It may be titled Mexican NASA but it's actually at a Bamboo Festival in Thailand. I know this because I've got an old boss who's son is married to a Vietnamese girl in Saigon and every couple years he goes there to visit and tour SE Asia. He sent me a video of this event a couple years ago.
OK. That’s kind of cool.
ReplyDeleteDayum. I gotta see if the local Black Cat store carries those.
ReplyDeleteI was rather impressed by the parachute at the end.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome!
ReplyDeleteNothing Mexican about this. The signs and spoken language are in Thai and this is a rather well-known video from northeast Thailand. They have had a yearly rocket festival to help kickstart the rainy season for many decades and this is just an extreme example. Pretty impressive.
ReplyDeleteReally? Only if there was a brief paragraph with the post.
DeleteMadMarlin
That the same stuff they're using in Seattle and Portland?
ReplyDelete#1. Deadliest virus in history? What am I missing here?
ReplyDeleteFor one thing, you are on the wrong post.
DeleteHome made, store bought? I want one, totally cool smoke trail, wonder about a nite launch? If anybody knows where to source these let me know, please. my hometown has a pretty good 4th of July fireworks, be great to launch this from a boat off shore from town (imagine trying to clean boat afterwards}.
ReplyDeleteImpressive. Built up enough speed to actually get a noticeable Doppler shift.
ReplyDeleteNot Mexican NASA but you get the picture.

That's actually brilliant. Reminds me of the Rocket On Rotor Helicopter design. I had to look it up to remember what they called it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRrYdIqrnWY
