Those boys got screwed. A 600lb bluefin tuna sold for 1.4 million in Japan.
ReplyDeleteForget tuna sandwiches. That’s a lot of sashimi — at up to 200 per pound that fish’d buy you a pretty nice car or truck.
ReplyDelete$2000??? I paid $25 for a blue fin roll up at my favorite sushi place and that was 5 years ago. There's probably a whopping 2 oz, tops, of blue fin in it.
ReplyDeleteDo the math. Worth every penny too, delicious beyond words.
Bet you never ate dolphin. The mammal. A dolphin steak is delicious beyond words as well. I ate mine in 1977 on an Italian cruise ship. There really should be a regulated catch on dolphin, they are wonderful. We eat cows and other mammals, why not dolphin?
