#7 the only day of football practice I missed in 6 years was the day after this girls small barrel racer that I would ride because she hardly ever did. the barrels were set up with one of the legs about 15 ft from the barn, and the barn entrance to his stall had a board set up so the larger horses couldn't get inside of it.
Anyhow, the rein snapped and the horse ran into the barn, I bailed but hit my thigh against the side of the barn, I couldn't walk the next day it was so black and blue. It was on a monday evening as I recollect.
It's a foul ball. Batted ball that hits the batter while the batter is still in the batter's box is a foul.
If a baserunner is struck by a batted ball that is in play and fair would be out. Examples: a runner going from first to second is struck by a batted ball would be out. A runner taking a lead off third, in foul territory, would not be out if struck by a batted ball. Just a foul ball.
#7 takes me back to visiting relatives in Mississippi when I was about 10. My uncle had a large plantation (over 1000 acres, I guess it qualified) I wanted to go horseback riding but my uncle didnt want us near his quarterhorses. There was an old man on the farm that had an old horse that was deemed sedate enough for little kids. Well, Mr. Tobes old horse didnt appreciate little kids trying to get him to run and tramp around in the August delta sun. He was slick, he was walking past a tree, side stepped and pealed us off his back under a limb. next time, walking by the barn, he does a quick right turn and pealed us off his back with the lintel of the door. Overall he was a good first horse for me to ride and I have a fondness for horses to this day. I've been kicked, bit, thrown and had a bucking horse go over backwards on me but I think they are great. Now cows are another matter, uncle kept beef cattle, they definitely were not like aunties milk cow, those suckers are mean and territorial.
#8 - 10 for style, 0 for dismount
ReplyDelete#6 - how can you be so stupid to not immediately let go of the handle?
ReplyDeleteStupid or not, it's mighty funny watching her do battle with....herself?
DeleteI've got that cycling in it's own tab. Funny as hell.

#9: Hang on Sloopy, hang on!
ReplyDeleteFirst few definitely look like setups.
ReplyDeleteSo in #4, is the batter out? He was tagged by the ball after the hit. Or was it a walk, since he was hit by the ball?
ReplyDeleteGetting hit by a baseball never counts as an out - the ball has to not only be in play but in the possession of the defense.

#6, I have "Sharp Dressed Man" playing and the beat was perfect, almost like a dance.
ReplyDelete#8, missed it by that much.
