SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Hundreds of thousands of residents across California experienced rolling blackouts Friday night as state officials and utility crews worked to meet energy demands during a statewide heat wave, the California Independent System Operator said.
California ISO, which monitors the state’s electricity needs and power grid capabilities, issued a Stage 3 System Emergency because there was an electricity reserve deficiency.

This is, what ... five years in a row now? I get it, the state is gorgeous but Californians must really be gluttons for punishment by now
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing about these blackouts is that they don't happen until dusk because... wait for it... solar panels don't produce electricity after the sun goes down!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this comes as a complete surprise to the brainiacs that have run California into the ground.
And speaking of brainiacs, in today's news Governor Goodhair has signed a bill into law that will require all students attending University of California campusses to take a class in ethinic studies.
DeleteAnother problem solved.
You know what is really stupid they don't learn from their mistakes and are full speed ahead of getting rid of coal, natural gas, and hydro...
DeleteI reckon they never learn from their mistakes because they don't think they've ever made one, Lineman.
DeleteBeing a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry.
Elmo, my old grower in California lived 7 miles down a dirt road and had no electricity. One year he took part of his pot profits and invested in solar panels and a bank of batteries and had full time electricity after that, even with fog from the coast blocking the sun for days at a time.
DeleteI wonder if these DOLTS ever thought about setting up a real solar set-up off of a battery bank? I bet they are sorry they listened to the experts NOW. ...ME...ICGAF! They made their bed..
ReplyDeleteAmazingly,Newsome blamed it on the inadequacy of solar and wind power. Go Nuke!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that works real well until the first 'quake. The only operating nuke plant at Diablo Canyon is 1/4 mile from a fault line!
DeleteDiablo is NOT 1/4 mile from a fault line. Besides, not all faults are the same. Learn some basic geology before spouting off.
DeleteWhen you talk nuclear power, just say: Fukushima
DeleteAt least we haz our boolitt train!
ReplyDeleteOh, wait...
So, tell me once more how that "green new deal" is supposed to work w/o fossil fuels when Calif can't keep the lights on with it?
ReplyDeleteEven turd world countries in Africa can keep the power on.
ReplyDeleteDeclare California a National Park and move all humans 200 miles to the WEST
