Reminds me of when we did dip testing at Milford lake. Mine was the only M-113 that didn't sink. A couple of them didn't even float momentarily, down the ramp and under water. You'd have thought they were open bottomed. Didn't get to do the actual swim exercise, I was in PLDC. Heard they sent one to the bottom.
That is starting to look like one of those bad choices that make good stories.

At Lake Belton, recovery barge crews got plenty of experience.
