USPS warns nearly every state it may not be able to deliver ballots in time based on current election rules

The U.S. Postal Service is warning states that voters risk not getting their ballots back to election offices in time because of lags in mail delivery, according to letters reviewed by CNN, adding a new level of uncertainty to the coming presidential election and leaving states to ascertain how to adjust.

Multiple states received communications from the USPS general counsel outlining standard mail delivery times and prices leading up to the November election and warning secretaries of state that election laws established by the states would not necessarily guarantee that mail-in ballots will be received in time to be counted.

  1. Simple solution: run the voting the same way you did in 2016.

  2. I call BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!

USPS handles 175,000,000 pieces of mail a day. Christmas time doubles that. Those are averages so some days may be much more.

So, I want to know, how are 125,000,000 million ballots over maybe a week going to 'CRASH' the post office????????

    1. It's not a question of how many pieces of mail they handle, it's they lack the ability to move it thru the system and deliver it in a timely fashion. At Christmas they have cutoff dates for saying the mail will arrive but it is still no guarantee, that it will be on time.
Lastly the USPS workers union have endorsed Biden, so they can't be trusted to do their jobs with any integrity.

    2. Okay Brian, then if they can't be trusted to do their jobs, fire the lot of them, bust up their complex multiple interlocking unions, and start over. Delivering the mail ain't rocket science, it's primarily tbe bureaucracy and the unions that stop USPS from being great again.

    3. Doesn’t it bother you that party affiliation is marked on the outside of your ballot?

  3. All part of the bread and circuses people. You are being fleeced. If you don't see it, you're not paying attention. They are hoodwinking the entire US, they are lying through their teeth, and setting the stage for a complete and utter shitshow in November (you THOUGHT it was bad now, JUST WAIT!!!!!)

  4. So what? I have said it before, and I'll say it again. If you can get your butt down to WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes, Baker's, Piggly Wiggly....you can just trot your happy ass down to the polling place and vote in person.
If you're too scared to vote in person, I'm pretty sure I don't want you voting anyway.

    1. USPS should be alarmed that regardless of the election result, THEY will be held accountable for uncounted ballot delivery. If they were to take early delivery, USPS would be accused of opening ballots and tossing out the results from anyone they didn't want in office. USPS should bow out now - they will be scapegoated and thrown under the bus !

Just vote in person (preferably with required I.D. - don't want Russians interference !) and call it good.

  6. Because they hire on extra bodies to hand sort the mail the machines can't. They hire more trucks to carry the mail that the normal ones can't. They hire more planes to carry what the normal ones can't. Christmas comes the same time every year and there are plans and budgets in place to deal with it. This vote by mail scheme was dropped on the country all at once with no time to make plans, get contracts for extra personnel and equipment, or even figure out how much or many will be necessary. It's not a plan to subvert any rights, just a flat out impossibility, much like bringing back a small business after forced shutdown for three months.

  7. Let the Lottery Commision control the voting. They are able to reveal the winner in less than one hour!

  8. What I would like to know is what are the safeguards in place to verify that each ballot will arrive after being sent. In conjunction with what are the legal processes to validate each ballot comes from the individual listed as having sent said ballot? From my understanding today, ballots are being sent out to supposedly valid voters, but what are the safeguards of the printing of ballots? Are they serialized with a tracking #, or can anyone print out a ballot and send it in? Screw this mail in ballot fiasco and just use the normal voting channels, in person, absentee, and for certain age demographics where 60 and older should be the only persons allowed to vote by mail. Unless you can certify each mail in ballot, the election will be contested (exactly what Dems are prepping us for) if Trump wins and he will be attacked 100 times worse than the past 3 years.
Just this deplorable’s opinions and not scientific fact. Stay safe all you wirecutters and knuckledraggers.

  9. It won't matter in California....The Democrats keep count ballots until they win even if the ballots are late.

    1. How late will they count them? As long as it takes to get a"D" win.

    2. That will be the case in all 50 states. Ballots will continue to "be found" day after day and week after week until Joe and the Ho have an overwhelming tally.

  10. Voters need not ever see the ballots. Postal workers can easily take a few thousand home with them, fill them out and return them without all that fuss.

  11. "The letters predate President Donald Trump's most recent attacks on mail-in voting,"

" The Utah lieutenant governor's office confirmed to CNN that it received a letter at the end of July."

"State or local election officials may generally use either First-Class Mail or Marketing Mail to mail blank ballots to voters," the letters state.

First class mail takes between two and five days to be received, while marketing mail takes between three and 10 days to be received, according to USPS. That, according to Pennsylvania's secretary of commonwealth, is a longer a delivery time than what was factored in for the primaries in June, according to a filing in a related court case.

  12. UPS, FedEx (and sometimes DHL) can track a package from time of receipt to time and place of delivery; maybe USPS should ask them for some tips.

I'd be suspicious of any vote-by-mail unless there was a return receipt from the election commission that ballot serial number such-and-such had been received and tallied. Of course, that would be the end of the secret ballot.

Then again, perhaps the USPS should accept nothing or deliver nothing but ballots for ten days prior to the election. But then again, there's still the "who counts the ballots" problem and I don't trust the ballot counters in any Democrat-dominated county.

    1. In some states you can request a ballot the THURSDAY the 29th of October for the election November 3rd Only an IDIOT DEMONRAT would think that this was a good idea. All this is designed to do to de-legitimize the re-election of the president (again). The DEMONRATS KNOW it is impossible for the postal service to deliver all the Ballots and to collect them on time. If you want to vote by mail get an ABSENTEE BALLOT. I have used this method since 1980.
