The modern crop of American leftist revolutionaries are a curious bunch. These are the children of the high bourgeoisie, often women, “cosplaying” the revolution until they get arrested and suddenly playtime turns into hard time.
For a growing list of Chick Guevaras, real legal consequences are following from what they thought would be a frolicking freedom fight — and how they react reveals much about their privilege.
If you really want to send a message, take those two - and in lieu of any jail time - auction them off for gold in any hardcore Islamic country in the middle-east and tell them that this one is on the house.
Nah these people should be getting street justice in the form of a cracked skull or broken legs or arms resulting from intimate contact with a 30" ash night stick. Amazing how quickly enthusiasm for mischief is dampened when one gets immediate feedback on wrongdoing, especially if/when you end up in the ER requiring stitches or setting of broken bones.
Why not just sell them to street pimps in say, Oakland? Then they would really be servicin....er, providing a service to an "oppressed community". Use the proceeds of the sale and a cut of their earnings to pay damages to shop keepers who had businesses destroyed/damaged in the riots.

Where are those "advanced crowd control" non-lethal weapons we've heard about all these years? Or are they withholding use of them until we get a mostly White/Middle Class uprising? In any case, these two nitwits deserve some serious punishment!
