Good luck with that. Most red dots sold here in the States, even Sig Sauer, are made by Holosun. Of course, if you've got the money to buy an Eotech, by all means go for it. I don't.
Sig has a facility in Tigard, just south of Portland. I am not sure what they do there but it is near the Gerber factory and not far from Leupold. One of these days I will have to stop in for tours.
But as for the Holosun, I bought one from PSA and so far it works great (I run it on my 10.5" 6.8 pistol for an idea of the recoil). For the $120 I paid for it (with 10 PMags included) I am satisfied. Still on original battery and its auto shutoff works well. My brother has a Vortex on his AR and I checked it out last Sunday. Seemed alright but was not as crisp but I did not mess with any settings on it to see if I could make it better (I do not mess with another's optics unless asked).
South of the city center and the terrorists by about twenty miles, the Sig Sauer optics factory is across Interstate Five from the Leatherman multi-tool factory.
The Pornland metropolitan area is yuge. The terrorists are destroying a small part.
My buddy 'J.' works at the Sig optics factory. He has some intriguing projects as home-work.
I have 3 or 4 and they are all flawless so far. More than I can say for the SIGs I have, although I will say that SIG support was fine. Good advice on one and eventual replacement on another.
FYI a person (veteran) I know was given an aim point (from a gun show dealer) to try then purchase. Noticed the glass tint was different from his active duty version. Called aimpoint they asked for serial number, said it was a chinese knockoff so be careful out there you may be getting chinese in any brand and not know it. I sure would not have known having never owned an original nor purchased a fake.
Sorry, not going to buy a communist chinese product. Please consider deleting this post. From Hybo

Well, I, for one, choose not to support communist cheap labor produced products. It is a matter of principle for me. From Hybo

Not sure it is possible to exist without buying some chinese made products.
DeleteI like my P-223's.
ReplyDeleteI'm running a P-223 on my 16" carbine AR upper ... you know ... the one lost in the Great Midwest Lake Michigan Spring 2020 boating accident
DeleteI believe Trijicon is suing the crap out of them for patent infringement.

ReplyDeleteyeah, it's a knockoff. but I don't expect a .223 scope to help me knock hairs off a gnat's ass at 300 yards offhand.
