I can see this happening some day

The NHTSA has been trying to put breathalyzers in new cars since at least 2015, and new legislation suggests they may finally succeed.

  5. They should have stopped with seat belts. Right now about 1/3 of the car's price is safety and emissions crap.

    1. Wait until you see what's coming. The EU is already going to mandate that vehicles be GPS/computer controlled so that they cannot exceed posted speed limits. Once it's in place there, it will be here before too long. And there's other, even more idiotic stuff in the works.

  7. That is one reason older vehicles are retaining their price. Tractors that were built before the EPA Tier One went into effect are fetching more now than when they were new. It will become the same with pickups and fine cars like the Lincoln Town cars and some imports.
