WASHINGTON, D.C. (WPDE) — The U.S. House will vote in September on a bill to remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act as well as erase some marijuana criminal records, according to The Hill.
The bill would not legalize the drug. That choice is still left up to the states, but it is still a historic step in the effort to reduce legal penalties related to the drug.

The other night I saw a guy stopped at a traffic light, about 100 feet from the light....I pulled up next to him, rolled the window down, and pointed toward the intersection....after I pulled forward he slowly pulled up along side, his eyes as big as silver dollars, as if to say, yeah, I'm fucked up but please don't say anything about it, ok?....pretty sure this will become more common in the days ahead....gotta' admit, though, I was a much safer driver stoned, as I was aware of everything, and drove a lot slower....reaction time may have been an issue, but it was never tested, fortunately....
ReplyDeleteI call Bull Shit. You just THOUGHT you were SO AWARE. Give me a break. I had stoners working for me in the 80's and when they were smoking weed every night, their job performance sucked big time.
DeleteThe one thing I fear about legalized pot is that lots of people are going to die on the highways. Betcha Highway deaths will go up 25% a year.
All the politicians that get their lobby money from the CCA ( private prison system) will vote no. Its such a money maker having weed illegal. Fuckers.
ReplyDeleteSame with the ones with big pharma and other such donors.
Delete“It would also remove criminal records and provide grant funding for people who have been negatively impacted by the enforcement of marijuana laws.“
ReplyDeleteI’m all for taking it off the list, but grant funding on what grounds? I was negatively impacted because I was caught selling 20 pounds?

President Trump should have done this 4 years ago. Why give the commies the issue?
ReplyDeleteBecause it was wrong then and it is wrong up now.
DeleteBut the proposed legislation would NOT remove the federal law that criminalizes the Possession or attempt to buy a gun if you are a marijuana user. People with medical marijuana cards have been arrested for violating this law and FOUND GUILTY. I wonder why the gungrabbers won't change that law if marijuana is so benign?
ReplyDeleteyears ago when I asked my dad why he grew his in a greenhouse inside an old barn, he said controlling the atmosphere makes the plants grow better. For a long time I thought that's what a controlled substance was
ReplyDeleteI'm unfortunately looking at a moderate democrat because republicans won't get their heads out of their asses and dial back the federal government's overstepping of power. Specificlly Mike Collier, who is running against Lt Gov Dan Patrick this year. Dan lost me when he killed a bill on the senate floor that would have reduced possession of 1oz or less of cannabis to a class C misdemeanor, he also stands in the way of ending the war on drugs. Gov. Greg Abbott better count his lucky stars hes not on the ballot this year either, or he would probably be voted out too.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, there are no sane people to replace a few totally mad republicans and democrats. If republicans got on board with ending the war on drugs (war on American constitutional rights), they would take away the biggest bargaining chip the democrats have.
I just want a government that will leave me a lone and focus on government issues, like securing the border. Both the left and the right want to destroy my rights and liberties in different ways for their own ends.
The MORE act is very important in that it will put congress on record as to where they stand on cannabis legalization. We will see who talks and who walks.

Maybe we should just turn ALL drugs loose at reduced prices and encourage all the druggies to inhale and pill-up. Maybe within a year, we can get back amongst the sober people without being killed. Because all the fucking druggies are dead.
