Livingston is about 35 miles south of where I came from and Foster Farms is THE major employer in town. Everybody in town either works for Foster Farms or has a family member that does and within a 40 mile radius of that town are hundreds of chicken ranches supplying the processing plant with meat birds and eggs, so this is going to have a serious ripple effect on the economy of the San Joaquin Valley.
Welcome to Soviet Union. First destroy economy, then destroy agriculture. Soon you starve. But free country, please complain. We have camp for you.
ReplyDeleteCovid not killing enough so the government steps up to starvation. I agree with wv.citybilly, Soviet Union indeed. I've been reading a book on the Great Terror (1930's USSR, "Forsaken") and it's scary. It's really scary how much some parts resemble today. (not clapping long enough and hard enough, what was approved yesterday not approved today).
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many of the "laid off" chicken-plucker fuckers are illegal aliens.
ReplyDeleteAround these parts (northern Iowa) beaners are the main, infected group. Packing houses, chicken & hog farms, etc. No social distancing, 9 to a car, partying like nothing is a threat.
DeleteBogside, I would place a bet that 95% of the chicken pluckers are illegal. You can't go anywhere here in the valley without running into those people.
DeleteI wonder just how many are "FALSE POSITIVES"? The accuracy of these test is not so good.
ReplyDeleteDamn, that plant has statistics about as bad as the whole state of West Virginia
ReplyDeleteEight have died *with* the Chinese Lung Aids (thank, Ace). No mention, of course, what the underlying conditions might be.
ReplyDeleteWith the CDC announcing that 94% of all covid deaths were not "just" from Covid 19 makes this virus about as deadly (or even less deadly) than the regular flu. So open the chicken plant back up for God's sake!
