This reminds me of a line from a fishing book I read years ago (might of been Trout Bum).
Whenever someone asked the author why he likes to fish so much, his response was "Because I always get what I'm after... and sometimes I catch a fish". I'm paraphrasing, but it's close.

I always loved that line.
Fishing is great when the fish are biting. But if they aren't I can think of 16 better things I could be doing. And none of them sitting on my butt.
