Kimber Arms moving headquarters from New York to Troy, creating 366 Alabama jobs
Kimber Manufacturing is moving its corporate headquarters to Troy and will “aggressively hire” in all departments.
The firearms manufacturer last week announced it is moving to a new facility it built last year on 80 acres with more than 225,000 square feet of space, with design engineering, product management and manufacturing space.
cummo and deFuckyouyo they don't give a shit fookin commies they got theirs now the city and state are gonna get theirs sad but you get what you vote for
Well, so much for that. I had an inquiry in with them for work. My old job isn't opening up again anytime soon, and Kimber is (was) right up the block from me.
If you have not been to Alabama lately it may not be what you think. There is a growing manufacturing sector. Mercedes Benz as well as one of the Korean car companies have factories there and up around Huntsville there are a lot of high tech companies in the space sector. Also Rednecks like to make guns (and they could not give 2 shits if you call them rednecks). That factory will have a lot of people with a lot of shooting experience.
Kimber was listed as the most repaired gun by gun smiths. I believe Taurus no holds that honor now. Kimber has a MIM parts breakage problem. You're better off paying a couple extra $100.00 a getting a Les Baer or a Dan Wesson.
Let’s hope the move also restores the quality in their products. Quality that has been missing for years.
