  1. None of the above. I have astigmatism. When I look through a red dot, I see a squiggly line, so these kind of sights are not on my list.

    1. Nemo, I do too! I've never tried any of these. What works best for you?

  2. There's a third option. I put one of these on a Blackout gun, with a Blackout Reticle. Love it.

  5. It comes down to personal preference and $$$. I have both and I think I have more EoTechs and I do use a 4X magnifier (behind the sight on a flip-out base, Getting Old Sucks).

  6. While I whole heartedly encourage people to spend their money however they like, my budget has decided I will be a knock-off brand chink red dot user.

... my nikon scope cost less than an EOTech! Jeeeze!

  7. I prefer red dots, but wouldn't hesitate to take an EOTech into combat. The only downside that I see is the battery life. The Aimpoint M68 was first issued to me in 2004 and I really liked it. Currently, I've got an Ainmpoint T1 and a Trijicon MRO. Every New Year's, they get a new battery. It's assuring to know that I can just leave them on all the time.
Main rifle still has an ACOG, the TA02, which takes a AA battery instead of Tritium. It is also left on all year, with the battery being replaced on New Years.

  8. I am using a fake Eotech as a test bed on my AR pistol. I am impressed enough I will drop the cash cor the real thing if we get another stimulated check from unca sugar.

  9. Bass Pro had EOTech 512's for $359.95 last Christmas; look for that again this year?
They were $399.00 with a coupon code at PSA last week. I remember them being $5-600.0 & up when they first came out.
Either way, I've been developing a cataract in my dominant eye, and the holo dot is definitely quick & easy lineup vs open sight.
