So much for that cushy Gov't-job-for-life

President Donald Trump has fired his biggest broadside yet this week against a federal bureaucracy he has moved to remake with an executive order that would remove job security from an estimated tens of thousands of civil servants.

The directive, issued late Wednesday, strips long-held civil service protections from employees whose work involves policymaking, allowing them to be dismissed with little cause or recourse, much like the political appointees who come and go with each administration.

  1. We'll only have to wait about 30 minutes for the volley of law suits.

    1. No need for lawsuits, the bureaucrats will tie it up with red tape until some other president reverses the decision. It could easily drag on until even the youngest bureaucrat retires.

  4. As a career federal employee who deals with inefficiencies and political BS on a regular basis I see no problem with this.

The very existence of this order will improve leadership performance.

  5. I'm in healthcare and have worked twice as hard with patient satisfaction letters to the CEO, alongside practitioners that get up one time to see their patients. I've seen mislabeled blood that jeopardized the life of 2 patients by the same worker and protected due to color. I'm a POC and minority. Those that are executives, scientist, professors, PhD need to be held accountable as much as I am based on merit & performance & outcomes. Not their color, gender, identity or whatever excuse to give these slackeys a job.

The very existence of this order should improve performance at every level of .gov. FIFY

Actually, what should happen, is that every .gov bureaucrat that slow walked or otherwise ignored any of President Trump's policies should be fired on November 4th after he wins another term. These pissant bureaucrats that think they run the .gov need to be taught a lesson that will resound through history. That includes ALL White House staff, down to the janitor, if necessary, so that whoever remains knows which side of the bread the butter is on.

I am, and have been, appalled at the utter contempt that has been exhibited by most in the .gov throughout these last four years. I still don't understand why a newly sworn President doesn't get to pick his own staff at the White House. Just look to the Vindman brothers as prime examples of this type of bullshit.

I'm also not understanding why, when ANY President is making a call to another foreign leader, several dozen people are listening in. If it was me, I'd have the Secretary of State and NO ONE ELSE listening to ANY call I make to a foreign leader. 'Course, I'm assuming that who ever is President is not selling out the country for personal gain, like at least two former high level cabinet members did during the last administration and for which I hope they hang at some point in the next four years.

  7. This is the first time I could ever say this about Trump. I LOVE that guy. Even if he is a person of questionable character, as a president, he is a gem.

    1. Questionable character? He who has not sinned cast the first stone. I think that’s the quote. Anyway, what i wanted to say is I personally enjoy that Trump is an outsider and pisses off the Democrats. Makes me feel good inside to know the Left, and a lot on the Right too, are actually scared (or seems so) and are willing to show their true reasons for being in office. Money. Money for them, their family, and their friends. I pray Trump is re-elected with a huge majority and that republicans retake the House. Really piss off ev1 on the Left.

  8. Dr. Tony, please come into my office. Once inside you are to drop your trousers and bend over. I have a pink suppository for you and it might hurt a little, but tough shit: you're FIRED.
