The Orders Project ready to defend service members who won't follow 'unlawful orders' during post-election protests

WASHINGTON — We watched it this past June on the streets of Washington: military service members clearing protesters near the White House and downtown. One officer spoke out, claiming his commanding officers were on the verge of giving unlawful orders. Now, a group of military justice experts has said it will provide legal help to soldiers should there be post-election protests.

  1. But... yeah. Posse comitatus applies to active duty Federal troops. National Guard is authorized to put down rioters. One wonders just who these 'experts' are?

  2. So if Bidet is elected, can I rely on this group for help when I am given unlawful orders?

  3. Many general officers have been and are currently part of the ongoing coup to unseat Trump. Enlisted ranks see Trump differently. It'll be interesting to watch from the sidelines after Nov. 3rd.

    1. We are living under the Military leadership that had to pass the Obama political loyalty review for Majors and above. If they didn't think you were a hard core Obama follower you did not get promoted. So the "coup" is what you are now seeing.

    2. Would not bother me at all if the Major were to be given a dis-honorable discharge.

  4. Sounds like he is part of this "It is all about me" group and is trying to make a name for himself with his 5 minutes of fame in the NEWS.

Embarrassing YOUR Command leadership on National Television IS NOT a good way to make friends and influence people. Would not want to be him, as he will be shown the error of his ways.

    1. "If you think you've been given an illegal order, you'd better be right."

    2. Major Adam DeMarco (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Maryland's 3rd Congressional District. He lost in the Democratic primary on June 26, 2018.

  5. Barracks lawyers think an unlawful order is anything they don't want to do. Every case I have seen of this, the person claiming it was flagrantly wrong and appropriately punished.
