Local drivers wanted to be paid $35 as (single) Hydraulic Operators rather than $20 for (paired) Garbage truck drivers. Mebbe this was them trying to prove their point? I don't think our trucks have that range of motion though. Glad the person didn't connect the sign post. What do you suppose that was worth Settlement wise? Jerry
Actually, that can doesn't look like it's made to be emptied by that kind of truck. I think the can was chained to the bench, so when the idiot driver grabbed the can, he pulled the bench as well.
#6 Down in the Wy oilfields in the early 80's a oiler truck sank into the mud deep over the axels, it was classic nasty Wyoming gumbo, a clay mud mix, unbelievably nasty stuff. Truck had a 2500 gallon diesel tank plus 500 gal gasoline tank, multi 55gal drums of different types of oil, big compressor so it was pretty heavy and basically sitting on it's deck. I jumped on a D10 Cat triangle track dozer, the first triangle Cat to be shipped into the oilfields to pull the truck out, we hooked a giant 11/2" choker onto the truck, stuck the loop thru the ripper and walked that truck out of the mud. Zero lug on the dozer, it was like it was hooked up to air, amazing torque, I have worshipped those cat's for ever after. That triangle on the tracks was such a improvement over the flat tracks. All those foreign made dozer's can kiss my Cat lovin' ass.
High track machines allowed for better weight distribution on the ground, which results in a more efficient dozer. Have you ever noticed the different drive sprocket configurations between a dozer/construction machine and on that of a log skidding machine, which packs a lot of weight off the back end of the machine? There's quite a difference in design.
The high track idea was genius. They're also much easier to work on and maintain.
I don't think the cameraman was taking much of a risk. I think those two guys had been spending all afternoon playing on that spot with that machine. You can tell by the looks of the ground before and after the filmed slip/slide. It does look like fun, doesn't it?
#10 Antifa, the early years. Human children are feral little animals and without correction stay that way.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone make out what exactly he clocked the feral little animal with?
DeleteI've seen a more clear version of that, it was a to-go food container.
DeleteI slowed it down and enlarged it and it looks like a carry-out container. The resolution isn't that great when it's big enough to see anything.
DeleteI've seen the original. It's his leftovers from dinner. His girl picked a fight with him at dinner, which is why he was trying to go.
Delete#8: Work with what ya got.
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap! And I thought MY garbage man was bad!

Delete#7. Now where is my shotgun?
ReplyDeleteSave the shotgun for #4 & #9...the attack cats.
Delete#6 that operator has that Cat in High Slide gear. I.m glad i don't live around much ice.
#9 Now that’s being pussy whipped!
ReplyDeleteLove the "catwheel" in #4, little bastad deserved it...

ReplyDeleteThe Cat patent must have run out, copycat Liebherr (leakherr) is building an elevated sprocket dozer now

#6 Reminds me of watching M-48's on the tank trails of Grafenwoehr in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI live in Graf and I agree. Now I've had a Deuce and a half break out on me like that while coming down from Tacsite 17, that wasn't so much fun.

ReplyDeleteSome people teach their dog to “heel”.
He taught his to “stump”.
#10. Psycho chicks. We've all had em.
ReplyDelete#6. Cornering like Colin Mcrae. Brave / mad camera holder.
