Walmart removes guns, ammo from floor displays amid unrest

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Walmart has removed guns and ammo from its store shelves in response to the unrest in Philadelphia this week, WKRN-TV in Nashville confirmed Thursday.

The retailer aims to “head off any potential theft of firearms if stores are broken into amid social unrest,” according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

No biggie, I quit doing any kind of gun or ammo shopping there ever since they pussed out and quit selling ammunition in self defense calibers. Fuck 'em with a great big stick.

  1. I gave up on them a long time ago.

However, it seems that Wal-Mart has decided that Trump is going to win and riots will occur as a result. If they thought Biden was going to win, there would be no need for this action.

Wal-Mart, being in every town in the country, probably has a feel for this that few retailers would have.

  2. I was there yesterday and asked the guy at the counter and he said "corporate" made that call. Really?? here in semi-rural NC. They never carried much to begin with so no loss. I only get the odd cleaning supplies and deer corn every once in a while if I happen to be there.

  3. That's funny - great minds think alike. I posted something similar earlier this morning on https://theviewfromladylake.blogspot.com/...

  4. I was surprised that the Walmart near me actually had guns and ammo. They are locked up behind a counter, and the cases aren't lit up. I doubt it's worth the hassle to even bother, seeing as the mutants that work there probably wouldn't be able to figure out how to sell a gun.

Then again, it's mostly ignored. It may be worth the fun to size up and see if they have anyting I'd like more of, like 12ga Buckshot. I may do it, if its there still, to see if I can.

Mostly I go to my local gun stores. I like keeping them fed.

  5. I got the last 4 boxes of 22 mag they had. I usually hit that counter to add to the stash. Guy behind the counter said it was temporary. Every retailer is picked clean. That tells me more than anything spicey time is coming

  6. They also sent a letter to the President and Congress urging them to pass more Gun Legislation.

  7. Walmart is not pulling all its guns-for-sale off the floor because Trump's supporters lack weaponry and Rodeo Drive is not already being boarded up prior to Election Day because Hollywood store owners anticipate excessive exuberance on the part of ecstatic Biden voters.

  8. Screw the Waltons. I've never been in a Walmart and wouldn't give them a dime of my earned money.

  10. No guns or ammo on display at Walmart in Boerne, Texas, a town where revcom violence is highly unlikely.

  11. I'd say they are a little late, that horse already left the barn in any of the cities where riots have been going on for the last several months.
And that van of explosives and other elements of destruction found in Phily didn't come from any Wally World.
Good thing this is all just an idea and people are not actually acting on those ideas.

  12. I do not remember the last time I went shopping at Walmart. I am willing to do without than to buy anything from that store. May they get in full measure what they deserve.
