Three Norteño gang members were recently detained after they brandished loaded weapons in the City of Davis and fled to Winters. It’s the most recent gang-related arrest in a string of gang incidents in the small town.

I can't think of a single town in California that doesn't have Norteno or Sureno gangs. That shit is everywhere and God help you if you wear the wrong color in the wrong part of town.
I was buying a set of tires last year and as I was sitting in the shop waiting, the owner's wife was asking where I was from, then said her and her husband was attending an industry conference in LA in a couple months and asked if I had any advice. I think she was wanting tourism tips, so I gave her one.
"The red bandanna on your head looks cute, but don't wear that shit in Southern California, you'll get shot. Stay away from any red or blue clothing."
The poor little naïve thing had no idea what I was talking about and couldn't believe it when I explained it to her.
I didn't read in our local paper later about any residents of Lafayette getting shot while in SoCal, so I'm thinking she took my advice.
