ATF Singles Out 23 Pistol Braces As Unapproved Devices

ATF has informed SB Tactical that 23 of their pistol braces have not been evaluated or approved as stabilizing braces and are shouldering devices.

Washington, DC – -(AmmoLand.com)- AmmoLand News and other news organizations have received the document (embedded below) as part of an FOIA request recently submitted to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) after the Agency’s recent Honey Badger pistol brace fiasco.

The ATF turned over the document that alleged the popular pistol brace company SB Tactical had “misinformed the public about its pistol braces’ legality“. The ATF claimed that, despite repeated ATF warnings, that specific SB Tactical Brace models are not, in fact, braces, but instead, stocks that turn pistols into illegal short-barreled rifles in violation of the NFA.

  3. This points to one of the major flaws in the federal government. The legislature writes the laws in broad terms, and then give unelected bureaucrats in various agencies the authority to come up with the details as agency rules to be applied to the law. The ATF, EPA, and OSHA are some of the worst offenders at implementing rules that either go against the intent of the law, at the least, distort the law.

  4. Isn't the atf effectively creating laws banning these devices. How the hell do they have the authority to create laws banning anything?

  5. Except legislature no longer writes law; corporate lobbyists do.
No actually sure what the job description of a "representative" is these days.
I'll just stand on "Shall not be infringed."

  6. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

Infringed-act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on.

    1. Yep, fuck the ATF and anyone else that tries to enforce this unconstitutional bullshit. Not registering or turning in anything. Just look what happened with bump stocks. The patriots with balls kept them and basically said FO.
