Now I'm sure it was just a harmless Halloween prank

LEE COUNTY, Florida – Three people were arrested on Saturday after shining green lasers at Lee County deputies flying a helicopter over Fort Myers.

Lee County deputies arrested 15-year-old Alexander Harry, 18-year-old Xavier Satchell, and 40-year-old Adam Schlesier after the incident.

  1. Looks like two "teens" and a 40yo cracker. Ya know, they have a vantage point so you best have an evasion plan before doing that shit.

    1. Not a cracker. Read the names again. Pretty much a microcosm of modern America.

  2. Working Beachside at hotels in Daytona Beach the past few years I've seen several get hauled off for the very same act as these guys. The cops do not play in this matter.

  3. Their sentence should be: Pin open eyelids and forced to look at the sun for an hour.

  4. The types of lasers they use are not the kind you buy for your kitty in a dollar store. These types can start fires on the ground, if held close enough. They will definitely blind a pilot if they hit his eyes, at least for a few seconds, or even longer.
There should be some considerable jail time for this, to discourage the others from doing the same thing.

  5. This is intentional maiming, not free speech.

At a minimum, it should be treated for what it is: aggravated assault with a weapon against a law enforcement officer, with an enhanced sentence.

If somebody did that to me, they would not be running away giggling.
