BOONE COUNTY, Ill. (WFLA) — An Illinois deputy K-9 was killed Sunday when a suspected drunk driver crashed into the back of a patrol car.
“It’s with a heavy heart the Boone County Sheriff’s Office has to report that K-9 Loki was killed in the line of duty,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

You harm a K9 and your charged assaulting a police officer but when a cop kills your dog in your yard for no good reason all you get is a hole to dig. My dogs are part and parcel of my family
No, but charges do exist for the intentional or negligent deaths of animals in police service.
