Vivek Murthy, the 19th Surgeon General, in 2012 criticized the National Rifle Association (NRA) and tweeted that firearms are a “health care issue.” Murthy, who’s the co-chair of the former vice president’s coronavirus task force, has been included on a Bloomberg list of possible Biden HHS appointees.

There are just under 40,000 deaths per year in the US from firearms and just under 40,000 deaths per year in the US from auto accidents. I do not see anyone advocating that we ban automobiles. Note that there is a Constitutional mandate against infringing the right of the people to keep and bear arms, but no such parallel provision applies to cars (or other forms of transportation). I wonder how popular Biden (and his HHS picks) would be if he sought to ban cars?
ReplyDeleteRemove suicides and the actual number of gun deaths drops by over half. Remove legitimate self defense shots and the number drops a tad more. Remove hood rats whacking hood rats and barrio rats whacking barrio rats, and the number drops to an insignificant percentage of deaths.

ReplyDeleteThe reason not to budge on gun rights is that we started with "two weeks to flatten the curve" and now we don't have faces. Also, no life, school, sports, basic entertainment, workplace or choice.

Biden has already collected the money to turn America over to the Chi Coms in around 2027. Chi Coms want our minerals and farmland. They won't even have to take it because biden and harris will have removed all private property and all the guns by then.
