Commentary: The Coming ‘Reset’ of Memory and Truth Is Not Just Politics, But a Effort to Redefine America

Riotous, rogue Trump supporters who broke into the Capitol on January 6 were properly and widely condemned by conservatives. They were somewhat reminiscent of the mobs of fanatic leftists and union members that a decade ago stormed the Wisconsin state capitol at Madison, or the unpunished hundreds of rioters who created havoc on Washington, D.C. streets during the Trump 2016 inauguration. We expect the Capitol stormers will be punished, and not in the lax fashion of the latter two groups that were not.

Why does every ostensible "conservative" voice *always* begin the argument by totally adopting the framing of the Left? And they wonder why they do nothing but lose....

    1. Initially I thought the same but realized it's a tongue in cheek headline.

      In reality, it's a very good op-ed.

  2. One bit of clarity that VDH, as well as most other writers miss, is just how many "Riotous, rogue Trump supporters" were there on January 6 at the Capitol, versus how many Antifa plants and swamp henchmen were on the scene? Many pictures and videos of the inside of the Capitol during the "occupation" (occupation of The People's House??) showed people who looked a lot more like tourists than troublemakers. Compare that, will you, to the scenes of Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, and other American shithole cities that have lost their way.

One can sum up VDH's description of what is happening is simply that large parts of America-and especially the liberal/progressive/Socialist/Communist elements-are blatantly and openly hypocrites. Sadly, that term also applies to most of leadership.

  3. Based on the summary posted here I know the rest of the article is one gian crock 'o shit!
    Riotous. Rouge Trump supporters?
No sir, the Trump supporters were outside peacefully demonstrating. You saw pimply faced over weight incels and a shirtless 20 something in drag. Don't look like Trump supporters to me? Look like faggot provocateurs from some mis-nmaed LARPer group... which it turns out most of them were!

  5. "Riotous, rogue Trump supporters who broke into the Capitol on January 6" stopped reading right here. Trump supporters, remember as long as they keep repeating the lie it becomes the truth.

    1. Same here, its already too late for most of the "Bread and Circuses" crowd, they have been brain washed into believing it already. The Right has no clue what is actually happening and that occupying the "Moral High Ground" means nothing if you aren't willing to fight. As Ol' Remus would say, "Stay away from crowds"

      Cruachan!

    2. Victor Davis Hanson should know better. When I posted I did not see the author's name. I used to like him and all his work until this, now he is just another talking head POS trying to keep himself relevant. A californian, grew up on a farm now I know he is just another POS from california.

  6. You can tell Jan 6 was a False Flag event by how the left and now the right are using it. This will now go away but only intensify. Heels up will soon be their figure head, but Obammy has his hand up his puppets, (he put that out they).

“You asked for it, Toyota” . Wake me when they get closer. Is that thunder or artillery, guess time will tell. Oh wait now I can hear the buzzing of drones. We’re fucked now Toto.

    2. Johnny Yuma was a made-up character.
SFC Jerry Shriver was the real deal.

...remembered as the leader, who, with NVA on all sides, refused extraction, saying, “No, No, I’ve got em right where I want em, surrounded from the inside.“

  8. Heres something that I haven’t seen written about anywhere on the web regarding the “riot”/protest: we can agree there were some elements of opposition there, but, by and large, it was comprised of peaceful, Trump supporters. Those people are only a representational fraction of the overall base for Trump. If a fraction of people can cause the fear that the left is exhibiting now, imagine what can be done going forward. The left has good cause to be fearful, we outnumber them.

    1. Where is this myth of "fear" coming from? Were there some Congress-types who were scared for a day? Yes, but those idiots aren't the real power. The real power is openly contemptuous of the peasantry, and the Right's peasants in particular.
