From the shit hole I used to live in...

MODESTO (CBS13) – Five people were arrested and 19 bikes were impounded after hundreds of cyclists took over the roadways in Modesto.

You couldn’t miss it. First gathering at a local park, the group steadily grew to around 300 cyclists who then rode out into the streets, according to the Modesto Police Department.

  1. I remember when I lived in the Bay area and critical mass started. They took it to the limit and then one day up in the hills in Marin they tangled with a guy that had enough of their shit and he ran over 25 of them blocking the road. They were all bent out of shape over it.

    1. Since when have Teh Gayze needed a permit to parade?

As an aside, I've always thought it took a special kind of stupid to put on a spandex suit and get on a sub-50 pound bicycle and go forth upon the public streets and roadways all the while expecting three thousand pound pickups traveling at 55 to 70 MPH to watch out for your dumb ass. But maybe that's just me.

    1. If you think about it for a minute "before cars were invented" is not a great argument. I'm all for people riding bicycles anywhere they like. I ride motorcycles. However, if cyclists are on one of our twisty, hilly two-lanes riding three abreast, as I have seen, and get smacked by someone popping over the hill behind them, the driver should get a pass and the cyclists should get no sympathy.

    2. Feet predate bicycles but that doesn’t justify ambling down the middle of the road at 2-4 mph.

  4. Nothing a few Dodge pickups with snow plows couldn't fix. Pay them so much for neutralizing human parasites, add a bonus for taking out bicycle.

  5. I would gladly permit cyclists room on the road under two conditions:
1- They stay in their lanes and follow ALL traffic laws, not ones convenient for them.
2- They pay the same road tax as automobile drivers do. Building a road is not free, so unless they wish to dip into their own pockets and pay for their own roads, pay up or stay off.

  6. When it said 'cyclists', I expected, well, cyclist. Ohhh, BIcyclists.
Heh. What a bunch of dangerous outlaws. They'd shit if they saw me & my (motorcycle-) riding buddies. For that matter, Ken, they'd shit if they saw you. You look like one of us, and I know you used to ride.

    1. I always get a kick out of it when the MSM calls bicyclists 'bikers'.

  8. My hometown Coeurdalene puts on a Ironman every year, every spring dickhead cyclists block our rural road practicing the course. They are rude, entitled and don't use common sense. Because they fork over money for hotels they think the locals owe them, F#CK YOU. I hate those people.
