Chief Petty Officer Tony DeDolph was formally charged with another SEAL and two special operations Marines in November 2018 with felony murder, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, burglary, hazing, and involuntary manslaughter in the strangulation death of Army Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar, a Special Forces soldier assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group.
The story doesn’t make me feel very good about the US military. And I served.
ReplyDeleteI was in the country at the time this incident occurred. Everyone in the operators' environment knew these guys as hot party animals and not much else; no one was surprised that something awful happened sooner or later; everybody agreed on the incredulous question "Is this the best the US Armed Forces can do? Don't the Americans have better qualified people?"
ReplyDeleteWho needs enemies when you have your team killing you?
ReplyDeleteSo, you are saying the SEALs are tougher than the Green Berets?

Looks like a case of inter-service rivalry, Jethro
ReplyDeleteSounds like an example of a time to keep your mouth shut....
ReplyDeleteWhat happens when ya play 'Grab Ass'...someone gets hurt feelings or hurt...or in this case, dead.
ReplyDeleteUsually 'grown out of' after high school or most certainly after your first tour living in the barracks versus offpost. joe tentpeg
Wait, I thought this had to do with the SF guy threatening to snitch on kickbacks/bribes/stolen money the SEALS were involved with? Or was that another special ops murder?
ReplyDeleteSame one
ReplyDeleteI'd always heard SEALs were not much more than assassins...
ReplyDeleteTony DeDolph, thank you very much for dishonoring the Chief Petty Officer community.
ReplyDeleteAsshole...
Squids...
ReplyDeleteTook the Army-Navy game a little too far, I suppose.
