Protesters converge on California Capitol, 12 arrested

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Twelve people were arrested for illegal possession of pepper spray during protests at the Capitol on Wednesday, Sacramento police said.

The protests by supporters of President Donald Trump against the results of the presidential election coincided with demonstrations elsewhere in the country, including in Washington D.C., where violent demonstrators stormed the U.S. Capitol.
