Sen. Tom Carper Announces Bill To Give D.C. Statehood
Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) recently introduced a bill aimed at making Washington, D.C. a state. He took to Twitter Wednesday to discuss his efforts to “give the over 700,000 D.C. residents a voice, vote and full representation in Congress.”
Will somebody put a end to D.C. becoming a state!?!?! It was designed to be "The District of Columbia", District- NOT state- DISTRICT!!! TWO states (Maryland and Virginia) each gave a portion of the shittiest land they had and the new Capitol was made, and they called it WASHINGTON D.C., short for DISTRICT of COLUMBIA. Now I understand, the Senator, buffoon he shows himself to be, does not want to bother knowing a little history regarding the very Country that he purports to represent, but at the same time, STOP WASTING OUR AND THE COUNTRY"S TIME irontomflint
Tom you are absolutely correct. However, if this bill is made law, there's no telling, even with current composition and corruption of he SJC, how the SJC would rule.

Do these idiots know ANYTHING about the US Constitution other than to wipe their ass? Article I, Section 8, Clause 17 They can't simply pass a law to make DC a state without a Constitutional Amendment nor to allow other states to develop or join the Union without following the correct process for adding new states. But then again, hardly anyone is following the Constitution on several things.
Yeah, and you can’t impeach someone that’s no longer in office, nor hold an impeachment trial without the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS to preside over it, but that clearly isn’t stopping them...

What baffles me is, they made DC the federal capital so that no one state might claim more power over others. Having it NOT be a State, was the whole fucking point!
