Sorry kids, no Disneyland trip for you this year

Dealing with an influx of coronavirus patients that has put its health care system on the brink, Los Angeles County is imposing a mandatory 10-day quarantine on anyone who travels into the area from outside the Southern California region.

  1. More boooolsheeeet from Califuitopia's elite government. SoCal is one the the most infected area's of the country. What they should be doing is barring anyone from traveling to any location OUTSIDE of SoCal. They're the ones that are spreading the virus among themselves.

  4. Do not fly into LAX or Long Beach LGB which are in LA County. Instead fly into Ontario ONT or John Wayne SNA.

LA County has been in lockstep Newscum. Avoid that county like the plague. Oh, um, which it is. But Newscum has been pounding on Disney this whole time. That creates an interesting condition; Disney is evil but I'm actually wanting them to get one over on the diktator in Craptomento.

The gummint, maybe; the population, less so. Seeing between 1/3 and 1/2 no longer wearing masks outside when walking dogs, etc. Stores are still enforcing mask requirements, so that's different. But even in my ultraviolet area, people are sick of the gummint's restrictions.

  5. Meh.
Disneyland's been closed and shuttered for months, non-stop, with no plans to ever re-open any time in the foreseeable future, and WDCo has laid off thousands of employees, while hemorrhaging $$$ by the literal billion in the last year. They may even go completely bankrupt this year. Inside word is the park, bereft of regular visitors, is now infested with rats.

    Poetic irony, no?

But it's in Orange County, with no such quarantine. As if any of that matters.

L.A. probably has no plan in place to enforce that quarantine besides bluster, and it probably wouldn't withstand the most cursory court challenge, so it's all moot anyways.

If counties anywhere had actually acted like responsible government, we could have solved this all months ago.

We couldn't even quarantine suspected Ebola patients when it mattered, anywhere, so we're sure as hell not likely going to start doing it on a virus that kills 3%, on its best worst day.

This may finally get hoteliers, restauranteurs, and theme park operators and their combined employees in the region, to finally march on the L.A. County Hall of Admin with torches and pitchforks though, as the final nail in their business coffin is driven home.

How the county will pay for anything when the only revenue is property taxes, and their budget coffers are empty, remains to be seen.

It'll be fun to watch though.

  7. We're about to have a Democratic president, house and senate. Likely to see billy-uns of dollars headed west. And northeast. And northwest. All they have to do is hold out until March, when all things political get nailed down.
