Yah, I'm from the same school. Never could understand why people would want to try to cheat death. I think the highest thing I ever jumped off of was the tower to swim qualify in the Navy. Didn't want to do it, but I did it and never want to do it again.
Sounds harsh, but while I don't wish anyone of these folks would die, I certainly wouldn't give a rat's ass if they did... And, it might be more entertaining.
Nah, in generations past, these were the tough nuts who did pioneer stuff. From first ambling out of Africa (or Australia, that theory is out there) to men braving the sea, to those exploring the Americas. In the future, their kids will be in space. It's built into us, some more than others. We have easy times, so that drive expresses itself elsewhere.
