'White lives matter' banner taken down in California suburb, calling it 'a despicable act of vandalism'
A "White Lives Matter" banner went up on Sunday at Smith and Dyer streets in Union City CA, just north of Oakland. It was immediately taken down and denounced by officials.
"This is despicable and we removed it immediately," said Union City Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci. The sign was strategically placed in one of the town's busiest intersections.
Soon as I saw them say that Union City is North of Oakland I stopped payin' attention. You have to go South, through Fremont, to get to U.C. So much for layers and layers of fact checkers and editors, huh?
Anonymous, you don't know where the hell Union City is either, try looking at a map before you spout off. I live a few blocks from where that sign went up, in a little park that honors our people lost on 9/11.

Uh, ft, I spent years with EBMUD, lots of 'em deliverin' pipe, hydrants and everything else needed for water systems everywhere from San Pablo to Hayward and East to Concord and that area. Then there were thousands of miles on bikes in the Bay Area and NorCal. Next, maybe you're gonna tell me I need to go West from Oakland to get to Pardee Reservoir, huh?
I don't know if it was on public property, but if on private property with permission a lawsuit should be filed. They will kill the first amendment along with the second.
I've lived here over 30 years. Most of our city council are okay, but the mayor is a toad, typical of the bay area. Occasionally they get uppity and we have to smack them down. Like when they tried to ban fireworks. We are around 45% Asian and Indian. You cannot take fireworks away from these folks. it's a nice little town, by CA standards at least.Oh, and we're SOUTH of Oakland, by 25 miles. Dave
Well, if the Southern Poverty Law Center says something is racist, you can take it to the bank. SPLC in stories a few years back said their infiltrators in right-wing terrorist racist groups always share information with the FBI. So if you're wondering where the FBI gets much of its information...

Even if you erected a sign that said "All lives matter" these jerks would try to make you take it down (or do it for you). Because today's theme isn't about "ALL" lives, just "black lives". And according to these folk if you don't agree you're a rayciss. Bottom line: We live in a twisted and perverted society.
