Authorities say when the owners asked Hunt why he opened the stalls, the 55-year-old told them that he didn’t believe the horses should be caged. The Fruitland Park man also told the owners he tried to mount one of the horses and ride it home but it got away from him, according to deputies.
Horse owners here in central Florida have had to up security around their animals due to someone killing their horses and leaving the carcasses for the owners to discover later. https://www.tampabay.com/news/crime/2020/02/04/whos-killing-horses-in-central-florida-a-mystery-terrifies-owners/
ReplyDeleteThis guy is damned lucky he wasn’t shot.
I knew a gal who boasted that she and some friends let horses run loose. It turned out that two of the horses were hit by vehicles and had to be put down. Several people died when their car hit one of the horses. After hearing about the deaths, she had the chance to turn herself in but did not. That was in Ketchum, ID and years before I met her.
ReplyDeleteShe hadn't learned her lesson; she was talking about sneaking into the local aquarium to free some seals back into the bay. I know one of those seals had lived in the aquarium for at least 15 years after being brought back to health after being run over by a boat. Even after recovery, that seal was deformed so what chance would it have in the wild? That was in Morro Bay, CA.
Such people think they are doing right but do not consider the consequences of their actions.
The horses were probably very happy in their stalls waiting to be taken out for a ride.
DeleteA couple of carrots is the only thing I can think of that would make them happier.
Fruitland park... is that describing the agriculture or the residents?
ReplyDeleteFruitland Park used to be a nice little town. Now, like most of central Florida, it has been overrun by snowbirds and their spawn. This guy looks like he has probably mounted a horse before. And a goat.
ReplyDeleteA few years back some morons released thousands of mink at a fur farm, I think it was Montana, and not only did they ravage the countryside, a bunch of them ended up dead. S much for 'saving' the animals. I understand it's happened in a few other places, too.
ReplyDeletePeople that are incapable of minding their own business need to become extinct.

A few weeks ago some jackass did the same thing around here about 1:00 AM. Luckily they were all herded back in safely. Caning is the answer.
ReplyDeleteuh, caning allows them to repeat their crimes.
